This is a 2 days seminar and you will see all the sections mentioned below. 


Section 1 - CORTISOL
No hormone has a greater impact on your training’s progression than cortisol. It can greatly influence muscle growth and fat loss but also strength. An excess of it can lead to burnout through beta-adrenergic downregulation. Even worse, cortisol is likely an issue with most of your personal training clients because every type of stress leads to elevated cortisol. And as coaches, bad training decisions can make matters worse and kill a client’s progression. It is thus extremely important to understand cortisol, its functions, what triggers it and how it related to training. I will go as far as say that understanding cortisol is the most important thing you need to learn as a coach!
Section 2 - INSULIN
Insulin is a powerful storage hormone. It is also the hormone we have the most control over via our lifestyle and nutrition. It has a profound impact on body composition, which is the number one reason for consulting with coach. It has a direct relationship with cortisol and will impact numerous major health outcomes such as obesity, diabetes mellitus (via increased insulin resistance) and certain types of cancer. In other words, it will affect fat loss as well as muscle gain efforts in the gym. So having a working knowledge of insulin and its management, how the body uses it to shuttle macro-nutrients in the cell and how it affects energy balance will dictate how a coach makes a dietary recommendation to his clientele.
Section 3 - CLIENT ASSESSMENT & SOLUTIONS
The initial evaluation of a client will give valuable clues on their individual biomechanics, fiber type make-up and the weak links that a coach should focus on. It will allow a coach to focus on the most adequate solutions to address the client as an individual and personalize the training approach. This assessment is destined to guide the professional toward the best exercise selection and pick the most adequate means and methods for every situation as well as give them the tools they need to get better results in less time. The aim is to become problem-solvers for whatever their clients face.
Section 4 - MEANS AND METHODS OF HYPERTROPHY TRAINING
As a personal trainer or strength coach, helping a client gain muscle mass will be one of the most frequently sought-after objectives. There are tons of various opinions and approaches in books, articles or the internet. So much so that it can get confusing, especially since all these approaches seem to have some number of successful users. In this section of the course, we will look at the various variables that play a role in stimulating hypertrophy and what is the optimal approach for the majority of the population.
Section 5 - MEANS AND METHODS OF BODY COMPOSITION/FAT LOSS TRAINING
Losing fat is as popular, if not more so, as gaining muscle. Sadly, this training objective is where I see the biggest mistakes being made by coaches who believe that doing more is a better approach. As a result, we see clients getting injured, feeling depressed, losing motivation and getting burned out. Not to mention getting poor results. In this section, we will teach you how to properly design resistance and energy systems programing to optimize fat loss without risking the health and well-being of the client.
Section 6 - MEANS AND METHODS OF STRENGTH & HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRAINING
The job of trainer has three main branches: 1) personal trainer where your main objective is improving someone’s physical appearance and well-being 2) strength & conditioning coach where your function is more geared toward improving physical performance and 3) wellness expert who is normally specialized in weight loss, health promotion and injury prevention/recovery. Even if at one point you may want to specialize, it is still best to acquire the basic knowledge and know-how required for all three branches. This section of the course is focused on increasing strength, either for its own sake or as a foundation toward developing power and speed/agility.
